I don't think "creativity" is exclusive to any political ideology, professionals who make their living in the creative sphere live in the public domain and it serves them no benefit being outwardly politically conservative in the same way some are outwardly liberal. It would hurt their ca... |

I am guessing they did this because it's somewhat easier to measure the creativity in somebody talking about themselves. It's not that this is inherently more creative than writing fiction (it isn't). But asking them to write fiction would introduce the insurmountable confounder of not being able t... |

It's far more creative for me to take 20 photos and write a fictional story based on them than to sit there and write about myself for x amount of pages. To me that's the lamest, most unimaginative, non creative thing to do - write about yourself. I think of it as resume writing and that seems so b... |

I started the thread because several "studies" were pushed by liberal media hounds to say that conservatives can't be creative. First you said it was "a study", now it's "several". Do you have links to these studies? I found the study, or what I presume is the study, s... |

Anthropologists have made a solid case for agriculture being the tipping point. They call it the Neolithic Revolution. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neolithic_Revolution Basically, when we spent millenia as hunter/gatherers, all the things we have come to call 'civilization' couldn't happen. Hunter... |

It's weird to me that humans could have been around for so long and not developed a more advanced society. Look at all we've done in just 6000 years! What happened the other 595,000 years? This is a very good and under-considered point. In fact this sort of argument has been cogently made for hundr... |

I don't see why the beautiful churches would mean that God exist, that makes no sense and most people would agree, I think. The reasoning is that people around the world build beautiful churches (temples/mosques etc.) because they all feel the same sense of awe about the divine and build to honor t... |

If someone is treated as a second class citizen, no matter what they are, that's illegal. If those gun owners get kicked out of a business for talking about guns, they have the right to get a lawyer and take the business to court and have the matter settled legally. I don't think that's true, only ... |

You mean her belief that Christians must be right because they make nice buildings? She believes that GOD must exist, because his worshipers are making all these beautiful buildings. She doesn't think they would waste their time on it if he did not exist. Her beliefs don't seem strange to him becau... |

only like 25% of relgious people would refuse to serve gays. how many of them own shops? like 2% so you're looking at a small portion of business. that isn't treating them like 2nd class citzens. just like allowing gays to refuse anti gay people and blacks to refuse kkk members doesn't make any of ... |

But religious people are not used to having knowledge be in flux. Religious knowledge is intended to be unchangeable. So its rate of change is over timescales so large as to be imperceptible to all but those who actively study these changes as part of their scholarly work or who read from a broad s... |

ok then why can gay business refuse to serve anti gay people? They can't. But if they are bakers, they can refuse to put an anti-gay slogan on a cake. You may be referencing this case: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/04/06/azucar-bakery-anti-gay-message_n_7011202.html The Colorado Civil Rights D... |

He{pcuser} never argued that what we know is the totality of what will be known. Nobody who understands science ever argues that. But you, like so many religious people, made an argument against the arrogant straw man scientist who doesn't realize that knowledge changes. Why did you make that argum... |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZYD1el_Jfg I am not implying religious people are dumb people although quite a few are, religion seems to be just a useful tool for dumb people. Caution some cursing in the vid but the guy is fairly spot on. He is an embarrassment to atheists. His argument is more o... |
