You're the perfect combination: a Daria with networking skills

I must confess: I used to have a secret crush on Daria.

You gave a good illustration of the usefulness of Twitter.

Oh yeah...."What's Opera Doc" had the crickets at the end, with the amphitheatre devoid of people. It seemed to have been a satire on excessive passion in classical music--Elmer's dickey or whatever kept on getting loose, his belt kept on getting loose--all because of the passion that was necessary ...

I guess there's no way you could take the bus, though?

My guess is that the "camp" has something to do with religion, right? I could see why you're anxious. These kind of things tend to be conformist in nature. There's a fellow Brazilian in this site, by the name of Linatet. She frequently posts, and she's about your age. She's a very smart, logical per...

Quite frankly, there are many NT's who don't give a rat's **** about being correct socially. They could have a very "individual" way of relating to the group. They somehow get away with their faux pas because of their status within the group; perhaps one might have helped someone move; perhaps one l...

Maybe I should be more of a ruminator. I don't like to keep anger longer than the moment of anger. I sometimes regret the mistakes I made in life--but I can't cogitate over them; otherwise, I won't be able to function. I wish I could turn my discontent into a money-making novel. I always say: never ...

You're right---the world around him will not accommodate him; he must, alas, accommodate to the world around him. The First World lends itself to individualism more than any other "world." However, there are limits. If he were living amid the lagoons of Lagos, he would have had to "push" or starve; ...

At least you're still in his life, at least to some degree. You did hear stories like the one you related--often. Then you hear the reverse: Jerry Rubin: 60's hippie, 80's businessman. He "tuned-in, dropped out," then he "dropped in." Perhaps, in the 1940's, your friend would have gloried in the boh...

Yep..."What's Opera Doc" was great! Especially when they went up on the barber chairs! I think it was done about 1948-1949.

They don't make cartoons like they used to!

Because, in the old days (i.e., before the 1970s), girls/women didn't usually move out of their parents' homes until they got married. Unfortunately, a woman's "career" was, essentially, to take care of the home while the husband worked. This sort of thinking continues to this day, at least subconsc...

My advice would be to complete what you are given, then do the Facebook thing/take a break, etc. I actually do pretty much the same thing you do--except, alas, I've made a career out of it; whereas your present job is but a stepping-stone to perhaps a great career in ABA/autistic advocacy. Are they ...
