what does "everyone is a little bit autistic" refer to?

I'm surprised that you haven't come across this.
It's a typical response when talking about autism with NTs.
A way of belittling I suppose, "your problems aren't any worse than any others".

Saying that NT is a disorder is like saying ND isn't, or like some say "everybody is a little bit autistic". If everything is a disorder then nothing is a disorder. It's like saying there are no good people since everybody do evil things, perhaps not as bad or as often, but it happens. But...

Re eye contact. It would be easier if there was ONE rule, but at least here it's different depending on in particular how large or small the village/town/city is. When my mother moved from a small village up north to Stockholm she was instructed to never look at people. My experience is that a quick...

If anything, I need to learn how to embrace my autistic me, learn how to deal with it and stop masking and pretend to be NT.
Having been diagnosed fairly late in life, I find that hard to do, I usually don't even know if I'm masking or not.

I have huge fears of rejection. I think comes from the bullying and rejections I experienced in school. I tend to cling onto people who seems to not hate me, but I'm always unsure if they perhaps are just being polite. So I am afraid of being misinterpreded, perhaps they think I have a crush on them...

Yeah an extra twist on both or either of the half knots makes it more secure, I prefer to do that with the second one if needed.

I should add that 80-90% or more of humanity ties their shoes the wrong way, and to resolve the issue of having their shoes become untied they make a third half knot on top of the first two, thus losing the feature of quickly untying their shoes.

...Very unclear, actually. I'll just blame it on English not being my first language. But well, at least my shoes don't fall off. The first thing you do is make an overhand knot, or a half knot. It's made by putting one end of the string on top of the other end, so that they cross each other...

Not a woman (is that relevant?) but I used to do it a lot when I had long hair. Same with my beard when it was long.
I still smell my mustasche.
When with long hair/beard I not only smelled it, I chewed on it and pinched it repeatedly with my nails (still do but less so).

I cannot tie my shoes the "right way." ...There's a right way? 8O I learned to tie my shoelaces pretty late, but I have no idea if I do it in some right way or not. If they stay tied without looking completely dorky, then that's right enough for me. Yes, the correct way is to make i...

But if you had of expressed the empathy that you felt, wouldn't it then be sympathy? People are always getting empathy and sympathy mixed up, but basically they mean the same thing when it comes to expressing one or the other. "Oh, dear, I'm sorry to hear that, that's awful" is sympathy, ...

Agnostic. I see no reason to put one belief system before any other.
If I have to chose I'd say atheist since it makes more sense to me than the alternatives.

Well, since I didn't understand until years later, it wasn't any good for me. Just a reason for me to beat myself up for having been stupid. But similar things happened a couple of more times, I just wish I had understood it there and then. I heavily insulted another girl in the US who I believe mig...

In High School in USA I once approached a girl, asking something about chemistry, I don't remember but I think it was a term I didn't know in English. She said something like I only know the chemistry of LOVE. I had no idea that she was flirting, so I just dismissed her as a stupid. I did a lot of t...
