I can relate. I feel as if all my life I've been shouted at by my mum to stop crying.. However, I'm trying to bear in mind the fact that if my parents are aspies too, then my crying will make them as uncomfortable as I get when people around me start crying. Therefore mum and dad will mirror my reac...

I mostly remember trying to answer people's questions and not being able to say what I needed to say. Or getting really confused about what the teachers were saying to me. There was this one occasion when I got sent on an errand by a teacher. I had to go to another classroom with a message and I'd m...

I like the IDEA of theme parks. As a kid I was always vaguely aware that I was supposed to be enjoying the experience. I hate heights though, and that feeling you get in your stomach when the roller coaster drops. I've never been on any big roller coasters, or anything that goes upside down. I hate ...

If it's my best friend, just the two of us. She's really easy to talk to and I have no idea why. Actually I think it's because we're so similar. We have an unspoken understanding of each other or something.
Otherwise, I think 3 to 6 people. I am much more sociable than I used to be though.

In that case I would be HFA then, not aspie! I have never been particularly verbal. I definitely fit into the single minded version. I am insanely organised at times too.

I tried meditation for a while.. It is incredibly difficult, mainly because it's not what most people think it is. The popular view seems to be that you're supposed to picture a desert island or some such thing. The actual aim is to empty your mind, which is damn near impossible 'cos as soon as you ...

I have this too. I mean to do something and think of four more things to do along the way, then forget what the first thing was! Similarly I can get absorbed in the music or the internet for hours.
I can't read a book without skipping forward to bits further on..drives me bonkers 8)

The only book I can think of that sounds like the one you're talking about is "Pretending to be Normal" by Liane Holliday Willey...it's about how she discovers she has AS after her daughter is diagnosed. She talks about not being able to find her way around school and college due to her poor sense o...

I have no maternal instinct whatsoever..
Love animals.
Feel like a robot when one of my friends breaks down though..just sit there wondering whether they'll feel patronised if I pat them on the back.. :)

I think i am noticably weird because i don't talk much for a woman! not wishing to be sexist about it but people do find it strange that i don't talk much. I feel emotions (my own and others') all too deeply at times. right now i am crying my eyes out because i don't know how to tell my parents abou...

I talk to myself every single time I am alone and within four walls. It doesn't bother me but I can imagine it scaring other people if they heard me do it. My mum came close to finding me out a couple of times before i moved out. (I've heard both my parents talking to themselves though so they have ...

I hate it when a DJ talks over a song I really like, or cuts a song short to go to commercials. This is going to sound really weird but another thing that really grates is when a song is playing very very slightly too fast or too slow on the radio...anyone else experienced this or am I just strange?...
