It seems ASD diangnosis is just as much a clinicion judgement as Aspergers was. "You seem well adjusted job etc you are not autistic" "You meet the criteria but I judge that you don't need a label" "your are not Autistic but impaired enough you could use support since I perc...

I am glad all of you are not in denial anymore mournerx - Your mother probably grew up in the era I did. There was a large stigma against seeing a "shrink" back then. It was thought the only legitimate reason to see one is if you were really crazy, otherwise you were rich with too much tim...

If that were the problem then it should not be shutting down not at midnight everywhere, but when it is midnight at the location of the servers. It is just another bug they are are unwilling or unable to fix. It almost seems that they have given up in frustration.

I view my diagnosis as a second birthday. It is both a day to celebrate that unlike the generation before me I got to know who I really am and reflect. My first and second anniversaries occurred under such radically different circumstances in my life that I can not have a definitive view on the day ...

The functioning labels are usually divided by IQ of 70 or 80 but "High Functioning" and "Low Functioning" have NEVER,EVER been diagnostic labels in the DSM Ah, yes, thank you. That is what I couldn't find. I got confused with the DSM IV and how some diagnoses were reported. So s...

I remember how back in high school, a girl in a nearby desk reached over to tap me on my shoulder, and I reacted as if I had been electrocuted. That was an extreme example of how I hated being touched when younger. Today, I don't think it's an issue anymore, though my ten year old daughter really h...

Most are not asking for people to bow down to us. What is wanted is the give and take expected in human interactions, not the way it is IRL now mostly it is only autistics expected to give which hurts our ability to be functional members of society which hurts society at large and us in particular.
