I think empathy is when I understand and care about how someone feels because I've been through it myself. If I haven't but still care it's sympathy. When I used to live in a home I only remember one staff member who showed kindness and understanding towards me when I woke up in the middle of the ni...

I'm from Canada and I find most US shows to be VERY overrated, but there is little else to watch these days. There were some pretty decent Canadian shows when I was a lot younger but now most Canadian actors and comedians have gone to the States where they can find "real" work, and because of this I...

Springfield Elementary is a "slight" exaggeration of a "stereotypical" North American public school (notice the quotation marks). Anyway I don't get all this sudden deep psychological scrutinizing of non-fictional places and characters. I don't know why exactly but maybe it's because I'm a ca...

They say Albert Einstein may have had Asperger's, and nearly every parent these days either wants or think their kids will grow up to be Einstein. But we'll never really know if he did have it, and when he was a boy at school they told his parents he may not amount to anything in the world and feare...

People have told me that I'm talented because I'm good at drawing and making crafts, and I have always been good at reading and writing. But I have always stunk at math, and in junior high my grades plummeted even though the school counsel said that at 13 I had the IQ of an 18-year-old. The problem ...

Lately I've been finding it harder and harder to do things like go out and run errands and stuff. I used to not really mind buying groceries but since the nearby store expanded I've been dreading the thought of just going there and having to endure the crowds and noise and saying "excuse me" or "sor...

I have become increasingly frightened that there may be a pandemic of a virus that is making the general public more stupid and do stupid and ridiculous things. Maybe I'm being stupid for saying so, but there has to be some logical scientific explanation why people with no talent or skill are becomi...

It was pretty cool that the 2010 Winter Olympics were held in Canada, but I couldn't care less about the Olympics the rest of the time. Too much competition and pressure and rivalry between countries. If someone wins a silver the public act like they miserably failed their entire country because the...

Parents NEED to stop lying to their kids about such things. Pain and suffering is a part of life, that's how it is. If it hurts or is going to hurt parents need to be honest. I've been in and out of surgery enough as a kid to know in the hospital there will always be something that hurts or is unbea...

When I think of a "lady" I think of some really old-fashioned Victorian-Age woman in hoop skirts carrying a frilly parasol who is always very prim and proper. Never swears or uses slang, is church-going, is married or seeing one man and, of course, is saving it for marriage. I guess nearly all of us...

I was diagnosed in 2001 at around my mid-late 20's after my body and mind started deteriorating and was kicked out of a home and left to die in the hospital a week before Christmas. Before that I was diagnosed with "schizophrenia form disorder with learning disability" at around 13, but no one reall...

-I'm almost out of credits for Facebook games and I really should not go out and waste more real money on Facebook cards. Why is it that I feel all kinds of hate towards people I think are bad, and wish sadistic violence towards them, but the other night I felt really bad and guilty because I deliberately squashed a big black beetle I found crawling on my bed instead of just catching it in a jar and releasing it outdoo...

I think that deep down I am evil and a sociopath and truly enjoy being so until someone points out how hateful I've been, which happened last night. Then I spent most of the night crying and couldn't sleep. Alone as usual with no one to talk to and even if I did what would be the point? My parents h...

I have a whole household of comfort objects, including the quilt I always have to wrap around me in front of the computer. But NT's can have comfort objects, too. My mom has a big, bright-yellow fish pillow she named Tweety. My dad isn't too fond of the competition.
