Everything has to be put in perspective of the world of the 1930`s & 40`s 1. France & Britain were happy to appease Hitler until the invasion of Poland 2. The US didn't care and was happy to fund both sides until it was attacked by Japan at Pearl Harbor two years later. Even when Hitler occu... |

Do we have any idea yet what autism is - ie. is the white vs. gray matter and neuroplasticity theories still holding? This is what's so strange about autism, unless I'm unaware it's like we still don't have a clean ontological story. It's this liminal condition where story goes we're partially shut... |

The catch all diagnosis of autism is no longer meeting the needs of those diagnosed. The clip board non biological diagnosis is so wide and impairments numerous both in type & severity that it becomes meaningless. You might as well put all eye disorders together from those needing light spectacl... |

ABA is just individual skill training nothing more. Those with milder autisms are less likely to have been through ABA as their autism is likely invisible and they are diagnosed at an older age. Many ND advocates hate ABA because they think it’s about converting autistic people to NT. It isn’t and w... |

Just a couple of points:- 1. Without specifying what sort of autism the question is referring to is a dumb provocative questionnaire. 2. Sounds like one of those insidious questions you think is asking a direct question but is really designed to measure something else. Severe disability to the point... |

Rigid moral thinking is considered connected to the impaired theory of mind; that is, difficulty with considering other perspectives and seeing things in shades of gray. For example, an autistic person who sees stealing as always bad, will judge the thief without even considering his circumstances,... |

I really hope Ukraine won't become a partizan thing in USA. It was bad enough that covid was. Meanwhile, I'd keep my eyes on Kherson. Today, civilians got text messages from Russians, urging them to "evacuate" with buses they provide. I have a very bad feeling about this. My bet: men from... |

This study is basically saying that because autistic people generally tend to follow moral rules whether in public or in private, they are too inflexible and therefore not normal. Isn't it better to stick to your morals wherever you are? Right Temporoparietal Junction Underlies Avoidance of Moral T... |

There is no single Aspergers cookie cutter presentation, just as there is none for Autism
Some Aspies are smart others less so compared to NTs.
Those who use stereotypes with ASD will only be proved wrong. |

If autism is a neurological condition that cannot be cured what is the point of therapy? Maybe I’m wrong but it’s a fair point I think therapy is more useful for neurotypical people with neurosis like anxiety and depression or some other trauma. It allows them to recover or move on from their sympto... |
