Yes, I played with Legos as a kid and teen. I liked them, and so did my younger brother. We each had our own, but sometimes played Legos together, even tho we usually didn't get along too good. When I was well into my teens I gave all my Legos to my younger brother. I'm in my early 60s now, and abou...

Like many others on the spectrum, I have a strong dislike of physical contact with others. I'm okay with the little bit of involuntary contact on say, a bus or train, when people accidentally may jostle each other. My problem is with deliberate contacts, such as hugs, handshakes, etc. It bothers oth...

Thank you to all who replied to my original post. It has cleared up my confusion. As I understand it, you are paying to support a hobby you like, and to get thru game levels with less time and effort. If you can afford it, I don't have a problem with you making such a choice. For myself tho, I still...

I am puzzled by the comments of the original poster. Nowhere in the article does it say the accused teen did this because the younger boy had Cystic Fibrosis. If he did do it, he needs to receive the appropriate punishment, and treatment for any possible mental illness he might have. However, it's p...

Get some exercise early in the day, then, a short time before bed have a small warm drink, and for a little while before lights-out read a boring book. Also play some soft, gentle music just before going to sleep. You can even get a sound machine to play sleep-inducing static noises.

Hope this helps.

You should check with a doc about this. There are several possible causes. Diabetes is one of them, but as some of the other posters have suggested, it may very well be a UTI. Those often come and go, as you said this condition does with you. Another possibility is that you may be eating too much fr...

Forum: The Haven   Topic: what kind of crap doctors do they have at the VA?

The VA has a well-known history of hiring doctors and other staffers from the bottom of the barrel. These people get paid well off the taxpayer dime, but do a sh!tty job once they are there. I read a long time ago that their docs only work a few hours 2 or 3 days a week. This is why there is always ...

You have a toxic family situation. You need to move out and live on your own. I realize you are hampered by not having a job income just yet, but perhaps you could stay at a Salvation Army shelter while you get a job, and save up for a small apartment of your own. Some people do well taking in roomm...

I'm a naturally introverted hermit type person with health issues that make it hard to go anywhere. Unlike most other people, I'm fine being home alone, and have always been good at keeping myself occupied. I have a nearby relative who uses some of my money to buy groceries for me about once a week,...

Your description mostly fits me. I do sometimes go along with what others want, but only if it suites me. If I am really not interested or am set against something that others are for, I go my own way. I was never part of any groups growing up, and was always tormented by the other kids right up thr...

I've suffered from a really bad phlegm problem all my life, along with some intestinal and lung issues all my life. Decades ago I saw a movie about a little girl with classic CF. She had worse phlegm issues than I have, along with a bunch of other health issues. At the time I did note that we both h...

This is something that has puzzled me ever since games started selling game stuff in computer/video games. For the record, I am older than the internet, but I do play some games on my computer and phone. There's also an unused laptop I may start using again, and there is an old tablet lost somewhere...

I don't know if there is a difference in motor skills between the men and women on the autism spectrum, but I do know that we are all more likely to have such problems than the norms. Spectrum disorders are caused by neurological problems. Motor skills problems are also caused by neurological proble...

Yes, my waist size is out of step with my hip size. To fit slacks onto my hips, the waistband is then too big. Even with many pairs of elastic waist pants. The solution was to get drawstring slacks with elastic waists. I also have 3 pairs of drawstring skirts. I look terrible in skirts and dresses, ...

Anyone ever seen the old black/white WWII movie called "Mr. Winkle Goes To War"? The star of the movie was Edward G. Robinson. He usually played "heavies", but not in this movie. In this film he played a mostly mild-mannered guy, and he did an excellent job of it. There was some ...

I've had a problem with heavy phlegm/mucus production as long as I can remember--I am over 60 now. It makes me have to cough a lot to clear my windpipe. I do blow my nose fairly often to get some of it before it can clog my windpipe, but the problem never goes away. The past few years it has gotten ...
