"Are Aspies Superior?" was a joke device used to get people into the thread. It's more about Aspies inventing things, rather than anything superiority to NT's.

Otherwise, I agree with those who believe NT's and people with ASD are people--nor more, and no less.

I agree...it's just the internet.

I was able to live without it for the first 36 years of my life; I could dispense with it right now, if necessary.

I also still believe in the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy, despite evident empirical evidence against their existence. This is despite the fact that the most I ever got from the Tooth Fairy was a quarter.

Hi Ann, I guess there's no bus? That's a pity, really. Maybe the bus stops about 2 km away from the job, and you could walk from there? It seems like a good situation for you. I believe you stated you like dogs. Perhaps, when you go full-time, the transportation costs will seem like it's less. If yo...

Wouldn't sensory problems (especially of a visual nature) underlie dyslexia? Within dyslexia. at times, there seems to be considerable distortion and reversal of letters caused by something neurological.

I don't think it's that taboo for adults to watch cartoons. In fact, in the old days, especially during the 1940's, cartoons were actually created with ADULTS in mind. They were shown in movie theatres as part of a package: I'm not sure of the exact sequence but, for maybe 25 cents or so, one could ...

I would bet that most people under the age of about 35, within this site, like Indie Rock.

I see how you project your enthusiasm onto that elephant! His enthusiasm trumps (trumpets?) all apathy. Actually, I think it's more natural for people to squat--so squat toilets, as exist in Asian and some European countries, might fill the bill (though I tried to use one once near Venice, Italy--bu...

I wouldn't find it offensive.

I would be sad and flattered if it is told to me by an ex-girlfriend. It would means she still has feelings for me--but that the relationship could never work out despite her love for me.

It's not an abstraction to the person thinking he/she is artistic/autistic.

Whether others think the same thing is questionable.

I hope you're not mad at this  Seriously: People are always trying to interpret intentions in online writing, since one cannot see others' faces. I believe there are times that when one uses strong, opinionated language, it might be interpreted as meaning that he/she is angry--when, in fact, t...

All that happens to me, too!

I've seen it happen in NT's as well.
