Thank you Morgana............. By the way I love your quote. In receiving my Dx with As, it was like something was conceived in me that could only be given birth to through writing my book. (A Painful Gift - A Journey of A Soul with Autism, Published by Darton Longman and Todd) Writing my book near...

criss, I am so glad you started this thread! I recognize myself to have so many AS traits, and I think I have it (or residual AS maybe), because of how I feel internally; it just fits, and explains me better than anything else ever did. However, this is the very thing that I was wondering about! I a...

My AS son likes to talk about his special interests, even when other people don't feel like stopping what they are doing and giving him their undivided attention. I don't think I do that. I have a topic that I think about all the time, but I'm aware that I'd make people uncomfortable if I talked ab...

Dear Well Meaning People, If you happen to pass by and see me sitting in a semi-dark room, please don´t laugh uncomfortably and then "do me a favor" by turning on the bright light. I am an adult, and perfectly capable of turning on my own light. If the light is off, it is off for a reason. I prefer ...

And perhaps Erector Set, although with a name like "Erector Set" you know it's for men and not boys.

How about a light Pinot Noir, or a Syrah? That oughta go nice with crow. (Sorry, couldn´t resist). Hmmm..... I think the Pinot Noir. I'm a synesthete, and a Syrah would taste somewhat like licking a porcupine backwards to me. I was thinking about a nice sage and mushroom dressing with a red wine gr...

I have a heart warming cat story. A friend of mine knew someone with a job as a veterinary assistant. Plus, her parents had a dog kennel. She had several dogs, and a few cats, ones people left at the vet's for whatever reason. One of the abandoned cats her family took in had a medical problem. I sh...

I´ve been in this sort of situation too; in fact, sometimes in the past I wondered why I seemed to draw those depressive kinds of people to me! It can be a real drag, and these people can become like "leeches". I don´t usually get depressed by other people´s problems, but when you hear about the sam...

nope, it's not her first time. we've had sex before and she never mentioned anything about blood (unless it was on her period) How often had you had sex before? It can happen sometimes that the first time you have sex, maybe the hymen stays intact; sometimes the woman doesn´t bleed until the 2nd ti...

The question seems to be, where do you draw the line between extremely passionate sex and rape? Some of you talk about it being "quite common"- and someone even mentioned "Gone With The Wind" on the first page- but in these instances, I think you´re talking more about a woman imagining being "overwh...

I seem to be able to play really well with children...it´s sort of an excuse to revisit my childhood and feel a little nostalgia doing the things I used to do, particularly art projects..."Spirograph" is still as addictive as it was when I was a child, I can´t seem to stop once I start. I also still...

I´ve been called a ditz, an airhead, and a flake. I´ve also been called "flower child", which I took as a compliment :)
Oh yeah, also space case, space cadet, and weirdo.
Now that I´m in a position of authority though, people don´t say these things to me so much anymore...at least, not to my face.
