1BR

An L.A. horror film about a new tenant with psycho neighbors. All around, a horrible film. The overall idea of psychological mind control isn't bad, but the extremely poor acting from the main actress and weak direction made for a meh film. Not recommended.

I was in my ska mood lately, so:

The Specials - Encore [Deluxe]
The Planet Smashers - Too Much Information
The Skints - Swimming Lessons

Absolutely. For years, I hoped I'd grow the same size cajones as Chris McCandless (aka Alex Supertramp) and start my life anew in the Alaskan wilderness. Poor Chris. He wasn't prepared and only lasted 3.5 months till he died from starvation. Lots of people think along these lines, though. In fact, t...

Arkansas - Crime thriller about drug dealers starring Liam Hemsworth, Vince Vaughan & John Malkovich. It was okay; nothing really special, though. Birds Of Prey - Annoying, annoying, annoying...and predictable. No wonder it went belly up at the box office. Calm With Horses - An Irish film about...

My dreams, and nightmares, are extremely detailed. Some of them I didn't mind. Others, though, were as terrifying as can be. As an Autistic person who also suffers from PTSD, I've found it necessary to take Prazosin to keep some of these dreams, especially sleep paralysis, at bay. I once had a dream...

Adults still use them. In fact, they've been selling out. In this very recent video from April 7, 2020, a woman explains how she bought a pair to help her deal with Covid-19.

When you say "follow", do you mean the wife secretly follows her detective husband to a hotel or he asks her to be there for whatever reason?

No, it's actually a good idea. Several movies have been made where a detective is assigned to protect a witness in different places. To wit: 1. Someone To Watch Over Me - A married NY detective falls for the witness he'd been assigned to protect. This was done in her fancy apartment. 2. Witness - Wh...

It's a well-known and common trope in Hollywood that detectives often go beyond the scope of their profession, get fired for it, but still work on the case behind their superiors' backs. The last movie I saw this device used in Birds Of Prey. The detective, Rosie Perez, was motivated to solve the ca...

You're better off having the main character be a detective assigned to an SVU (Special Victims Unit), or something similar, as opposed to just a cop. Cops have severe restrictions and what they can and can't do, and what you're proposing is way beyond the purview of a cop. If you were to watch a lot...

City Of God

It's a Brazilian movie about the harsh lives of residents and young gangsters in a favela (slum/ghetto) near Rio called "City Of God". Pretty good flick. Well-acted and directed. I wouldn't want to live there for all the tea in China.

In modern times, cops are extremely limited in their professional behaviour because of government and judicial oversight. They need just cause to search cars they've pulled over, warrants to enter homes, and they sometimes have to report back to their sergeant right there in the field, depending on ...

One of the hardest things I have difficulty reconciling is why women who get abused often refuse help or even look for help. Just yesterday, in a town not too far from here, a man was arrested for beating up a woman with brass knuckles in the street. As bloody as she was, she declined medical help, ...

It's interesting that he would limit his choice to a woman. I'm all for equality, of course, but it'd be a shame if he didn't choose the perfect male for VP and instead went for a woman simply because she's a woman. Personally, I think he already has the black votes sewn up, now he has to grab a big...

Mystery Road

Australian crime thriller with an aboriginal bent. Pretty good movie, but then, I've yet to see a bad flick from Down Under. Some of the thicker accents could take a bit of getting used to, though.
