I'd probably tell myself to stop relying on other people to tell me who I am. It took me a while to figure out that I don't have to cater to everyone's expectations to fit in, and everything is a lot more fun when I don't.

Also, not to get involved in a land war in Asia.

Nothing can beat the Shining, but the Shawshank Redemption is pretty good. 1408 is a great short story in his latest Nightmares and Dreamscapes collection ( Everything's Eventual , rather -- thanks, Serissa). Vintage King, and I think it's up there with "Survivor Type" as one of his few genuinely di...

Is the word "God" considered offensive now?

It's a way of referring to God in Judaism.

I think it'd be really cool if we could pull it off effectively. Of course, if we want to introduce a political system to WrongPlanet, all the problems of politics will come along with it. Almost all the time, the people who would actively campaign for a moderator position would be the least fitting...

Wow, lots of love for the new Stripes... It was one of the biggest musical disappointments of the year for me. I admit "The Nurse" is awesome and I couldn't stop laughing at "Passive Manipulation," but the rest of the album? Blah. I still don't get why they took all the ridiculously over-the-top bit...

I think I'm your foil, toonaspie. :D I don't feel too strongly about structured literature/theory classes. I love reading, but generally hate the books that other people tell me to read. Creative writing, on the other hand, is really fun just as long as there are really lax requirements on what the ...

Moved this to the correct forum. :) I avoid MP3s whenever possible. Even the best compressor encoding at 320kb/s will degrade the quality of some high frequencies, and on headphones, I can tell the difference between that and a lossless copy. I keep my entire CD collection on my computer in FLAC for...
