I've only been fired once. That was because I overslept one morning and didn't show up to work. Other people who frequently missed work didn't get fired. So why did I get fired for oversleeping once while others were not fired in spite of frequently not showing up? Because the management checked on ...

Most of my soldering was soldering wires to pins on RS-232 connectors.

I rode my bicycle to 10,000', and had no trouble breathing in a hike to 12. I'd be interested, if I were in the US, and didn't have ongoing projects to finish. The biggest worry for me would be living in close proximity to non-vegetarians. I'd probably stay in my camper. The biggest draw would be t...

Windows has less than 50% of the overall market. Don't forget all the smart phones and tablets out there. Windows only leads on desktop machines.

I used to be a vegetarian because of a health issue. After about two years I was able to gradually go back to eating meats and the health issue never returned. These days, I just eat whatever is available without regard to whether it is a vegetarian meal or a non-vegetarian meal. For what it's worth...

I feel there is some incredible bigotry within some Republicans. Alas, some Democrats are also incredible bigots. I've met both types. Bigotry cuts across party lines. That's pretty much what I was gong to say, but you beat me to it. I've come to the opinion that the more outspoken members of both ...

I know adults who consider the newer Lego models to be about the best thing anyone can give them.

Other than a great shotgun, rifle, or handgun, of course.

If I made the mistake of hiring OP, with her attitude it probably wouldn't take me long to fire her.

I think the biggest problem is that work is becoming less and less about actually doing the work, and more about random irrelevant stuff. I get where the OP is coming from. The above comment is funny; it has absolutely nothing to do with what the OP is talking about, but the commenter seems to thin...

Around here, if you can't show up on time, you aren't going to be around long. Some employers may tolerate it to a degree, but don't push them. At the largest employer in my county, not showing up on time or leaving early will put you right at the top of the list for when it comes time to lay people...

4. I have such a hard time deciding what to get on the menu so I always get the same thing because at least then I know I will like it and I don’t have to choose from so many options. They are really hard to read and I hate it when the waiter comes quickly to take our order! There is one local Mexi...

Hello all, I just wanted to rant a little about the Linux Kernel. I just installed Libranet 2.8.1 a few days ago, and needed to add drivers for my Broadcom 4400 ethernet adapter (Dell Inspiron 5100 built-in card). Well, after 50 attempts to figure out why the drivers from Broadcom wouldn't compile,...

I find both Linux and Unix (BSD) to be considerably more stable than Windows.

I have computers here that run 24 hours a day for months without a hiccup. If it weren't for occasional power outages, I wouldn't be surprised if we had uptimes on the order of years.

I looked at the page.

You're at about 9,000 feet? Yikes!

I'd have to take breaks in my resting to rest at that altitude. :)

Good luck.

Thank you, much appreciated. Now I can increase the size with a click and the clarity thanks to you means I can read it now :). Wish I was as clever as you in these things. Thanks. It surprised me when searching for it, that this was the only copy I found. In many cases when trying to find a better...
