I can guarantee you are no more stupid than any of us. All humans try to take the easiest route. There is nothing wrong with it per se. It's just nature working economically. In some circumstances a different choice may be more beneficial though. Every choice we make (even "good" ones) kil...

I I think it's probably more an NT view that autistic people don't get metaphors because autistic people may take those metaphors literally. But don't autistic people also tend to make what are considered "unusual" metaphors or similes? It seems to me like, because of different thinking a...

Hi Sarahsmith. A few things about going the shamanic medicine route. These medicines cannot change what you are. The physical hardware you have is what you've got. They can, however, change how you think and feel about what you've got. And that is a huge deal. In fact for many of us I think it's a b...

When was all this happening? It sounds like late 80's early 90's? The SSRI happy pills were still actually quite new at that point and there was a fair bit of resistance against them. I think even in the psychiatric profession. There were several big news stories of mother's killing themselves and t...

Straight out of school I went to study electrical engineering (focus on light current). Managed to stick it out for two of the three years before I had a breakdown and dropped out. I'd done reasonably well at school without any effort. That methodology didn't translate to tertiary education. I had n...

The sexual assaults were recorded on MAPS own security cameras and not viewed till after the victim came forward, and possibly 2 4! years after. edit- seems they finally [s]viewed [/s] admitted to them after the story got MSM coverage... more disturbing, they were not hidden cameras, you can see th...

I've never planned or had goals. It's just not a possibility for me. Sometimes I feel like I don't exist in time. Not being inside of time means there is no possibility of planning.

MDMA is very useful medicine in the right hands. The recent publication of the video footage is very disturbing. That said, MAPS seems to have behaved responsibly in relation to the issue, which happened years ago. Some of the reporting recently has been not that accurate. It's a pity such valuable ...

Thanks everyone. It's not quite the life or death place just yet.
I think things got much worse because a course of antibiotics messed with my gut flora. I was already low and then the pills messed me up completely. Ugh!

I havent had an episode of depression for a while. These last few weeks have been very hectic, I've been sick and I'm exhausted. I find myself plummeting into the darkness. There just seems no hope of anything ever being any better. My special interest is distracting and not at all practical. I am u...
