Seems like a nice place. One difference: it seems as if you're going to be living there--am I right? I do know that the Summit School emphasizes academics. I'm also pretty sure, based on the website, that they emphasize discipline as well. I would show the interviewers the Smart Jeni. In my opinion,... |

Hi Jeni,
Is that the Summit School in Queens?
I went there between 1968 and 1972. At the time, there was strong emphasis on academics and on behavioral modification.
I don't know how the school is now, though. |

Have you thought about trying to get an internship, so you could get some idea of what the job would entail? Many Aspies succeed. Adamantium, a frequent poster, is a graphic designer. If you're good at what you do, employers are more likely to make accommodations. You'll meet others in your general ... |

Of course you'll post some wedding pictures, right? |

If you could identify what exactly triggered your untoward response, that would help you to win at least half the battle. What was it about the town which caused those feelings? Think about it. Was it merely because it was a different town? Did something about it trigger bad memories? It doesn't mat... |

Maia, I do hope you find a way to go back. You must have talent. Maybe you could post some of your stuff in the Subform here related to Creative Arts--so you could get feedback? It seems like you might be in the UK--is that so? I'm an American. In this job market (and in all job markets), it is of t... |

What was your GPA when you dropped out?
What's keeping you from trying again, say, in a year? Maybe you could do your courses online? |

My nephew completely failed an entire semester, got expelled, started over in community college, and 5 years later, will graduate in one week.
I, myself, did not get my Bachelor's until Age 45.

I never knew you were into composing, Mr Holmes. The Oberlin Conservatory is in Ohio, and very famous. There must be some good music schools in the Denver area (where pot is legal). I think Boulder, near Denver, would be conducive to your creative growth. You'd gave to get a roommate there, though, ... |
