I've only just found out that ASS-P has died. I do remember his posts and how much he wanted to go to college. I'm sorry that he never got the chance to achieve that goal. He clearly had a very hard life and yet he tried to stay positive as much as he could. At least he's at peace now. And credit to...

I have no problem with Captain Tom whatsoever. What he achieved in the last year of his life was truly remarkable. Let's not forget that he was a war veteran who proudly served his country when it needed him and the fact that even at his advanced age, he still felt that he could help contribute to t...

I'd gladly spend a week partying for that kind of money. To be honest, I'd probably give half of it away to various causes that I care about but that would still leave me with more than enough money to do whatever I want.

I arrange all my fiction by author's surname and then year of publication if I have more than one book by the same writer. For non-fiction, I arrange them by genre in alphabetical order and by author's surname. Works for me.

ironpony, have a look at these labels I've linked to below and see if there's anything that interests you:

Criterion Collection

Kino Lorber

Shout Factory

Criterion are quite pricey but the other two have some reasonably priced stuff.

Some DVD/Blu-ray labels allow you to buy directly from them. It tends to be independent labels aimed at the collector's market that will allow you to do this rather than the major Hollywood studios though.

I really wasn't allowed to watch anything like that til I turned the appropriate ages (15 for 15s, 18 for 18s I consider myself lucky that I did not grow up in a household which took film and video ratings so literally. When I was 12/13 years old, I was routinely watching videos of 15 and 18 rated ...

Animals is probably least accessible for a number of reasons. It's easily their most political record (protest prog?)--so Tories might be turned off by some of Waters' stances. Aside from the short Pigs on the Wing songs; Dogs, Pigs, and Sheep are all very long. On first listen, I felt like each so...

I used to be obsessed with shopping malls and stores in general between the ages of 9 and 13. I used to memorise stores and shopping malls in my local phone book and I also used to visit malls that were miles away from where I lived. I wish that I had spent those years visiting places like castles a...

I would use half of the money to buy an apartment in my part of London although anything I buy in this area would be pretty small as property is pretty expensive here. With the remaining half, one-third of it would be put into a savings account with a half-decent interest rate, another third would b...

I hope we can get rid of BJ next. I actually wonder if he will last too much longer anyway. In 10 months the polling has gone from him having a 26% lead to now not even being in the lead at all. While we wont have an election for some time, the 1922 Committee watch these things closely and the Tori...

Technically, it's from the second movie Hellbound. The first Hellraiser is one of my favourite horror films. Hellbound is pretty good too.

I'm currently reading Death in Venice by Thomas Mann. And, yeah, this thread should really be in the Art, Writing and Music sub-forum.
