Is getting answers to questions online a social skill?
I often find online forums trigger my social anxiety. Is this a cognitive distortion / catastrophizing? |

I was just reading where Apollo 12 almost crashed when it was hit by lightning and the gyroscopes stopped working. Luckily it was the electrical bus which has failed and when they switched to "auxiliary" everything started working again. It later landed on the moon. Lots of "kids toys... |

Tony Stark is a hacker and he doesn't seem to have any trouble getting the girl - he does have real problems with narcissism and using tech like a drug. I was very amused when I mentioned MIT in conversation and my daughter looked up and said "Did you say MIT? Tony Stark went MIT!" - it is... |

Ask 10 people. In "What color is my parachute" it says "the best way to learn about anything is ask 10 people". Posting on a list might get 10 replies but you are likely to learn more if you have 10 one-on-one conversations with people you know. Do you know 10 people you could / ... |

I once had a job where they gave me a desk and a computer and forgot about me for a week. I used the time to explore the computer system and learn as much as I could. I would listen to co-worker's conversations and ask questions, and walk around and look what people had hanging on their walls in the... |

I get overwhelmed at meetings too sometimes. I attend some meetings like this where people come in with no camera on - this can reduce a feeling of vulnerability. Zoom also has a chat / text feature which allows you to make comments without having to wait for someone to finish talking and can give y... |

Ok - I have always been confused if the word was pronounced "like-en" or "l-eye-chen" - so now I know. My son did a study of coral - they are symbiotic too. Some people think that the Mitochondria either are or once were symbiotic to humans and other animals - that was where Geor... |

I do computers. I have a Computer Science Bachelor's degree - which was really hard to get - time management and organization skills are rather poor - ADHD - made the upper level classes increasing difficult - the only way I knew to "cope" was to wait until the fear kicked in as the deadli... |

I picked the planet Mars because it isn't a piece of sports equipment - it is a bit scientific and a bit topical - and I am currently very interested in the new space race and what Elon and Jeff are up to - from a scientific stand point and from a social standpoint in that we are running out of reso... |

I have two Apple IIe machines in my garage - haven't fired them up in a while. I have an old laptop a co-worker gave to me - it has Windows on it and I replaced it with Linux - I had to get it to boot from a floppy, load the hard disk driver then boot from the HD. I still have Linux on two 3.5 flopp... |

I posted a question about Snap Circuits and Arduino on the Arduino Forum. The only response I got was from a moderator who patted me on the head and explained that that was a Arduino Forum and what I wanted was a Snap Circuits forum. I don't think there is such a thing. What I was hoping for was a s... |

https://aws.amazon.com/vmware/ vmware allows you to to put a complete virtual machine on AWS (Amazon Web Services). You can put a Windows 10 guest OS in the vmware virtual machine - then you have your MS stack. When people move to remote hosting they often also want scalability - so you can add &quo... |

The first time I read about a quantum computer I really thought it was a joke - like one of those long deadpan jokes from the Journal of Unreproducable Results. I later realized that it was not a joke. People are perfectly free to ignore things like quantum or decide that they are BS. People are als... |
