I quit wearing one as soon as my mother stopped forcing me. It's not my responsibility if men can't control themselves. Why isn't the focus on teaching boys on how to control themselves instead of teaching girls they are victims?

I knew LOTS of people who adamantly REFUSED to get their child diagnosed with anything because they didn't want them "labeled". They got labeled anyway. Labeled as "weird' "strange" "odd" "disruptive" "rude" "arrogant" and grew up gett...

I wet the bed until I was 14. But I think it was more because of ongoing stress in my life than autism. I was bullied to the point I was suicidal but never taken seriously by school staff. I got punished for defending myself and the school wanted to send me to a school for emotional disturbed kids. ...

There was a thread on Twitter where it was suggested that autistic people tend to be better accommodated in rural settings. Less noise and chaos generally. So since autism is typically only diagnosed when it causes distress, there's going to be fewer diagnoses in more rural communities. I lived in ...

It depends. Am I the one being screamed at or is someone screaming at someone else or just screaming at random. If I'm being screamed at, I tend to dissociate and "freeze".

I left a Facebook "support" group because I warned them NOT to say something in particular but they did anyway then jumped all over me like I was the bad one when I complained about my boundaries being disrespected.

But doesn't having a hysterectomy kickstart the menopause? I really don't want to start going through the menopause yet. Depends on what kind of hystorecromy. If they take the uterus but leave everything else like they did with me, then no. You just won't be able to have periods or children anymore.

I actually kinda forgot. I was homeschooled since the fifth grade and didn't really have the same sensory issues I did in public school. As an adult, I do not have to go places that make me uncomfortable to go in. For some reason this store called Bed Bath & Beyond really messed with me sensory ...

I quit wearing bras as soon as my mother quit forcing me. She had me convinced it was illegal for a woman to leave her house and not wear one. I'm like, "And this is America? When I grow up, I'm going to go to congress to appeal this." Turns out I didn't have too. I looked it up and turns ...

I make my own clothes. I can pick the textures and the patterns. I didn't realize how comfortable skirts and dresses were until I started making my own. I could never find a premade dress I liked. They either were to short, revealed parts of my body I didn't want to reveal, had sleeves (I hate dress...

It wasn't the period itself that bothered me, but the products meant to "contain" them. I was allergic to them and my parents found it too expensive to buy hypoallergenic ones. I ended up having a hysterectomy at age 23 because it got to a point where they wouldn't stop on their own and I ...

I guess I never got the memo. Was autistic and was NEVER into trains. Maybe the trains thing is more of a boy thing. I've always heard autistic girls are into horses. They got me there.

Peppermint oil. I use a mixture of peppermint oil and water to keep chipmunks out of my car engine. Most rodents hate it.
