The ridicule, condescension, and rudeness often exhibited toward us type 2s is regrettably rampant in many autism communities. Most of these communities are run by individuals who have no clinical diagnosis, or are type 1 or higher, and they expect people to read between the lines, understand humor... |

Hi, awhile back I posted something about how I'm often babied and I think one user or perhaps several thought it was teasing. However recently it was suggested to me by a friend that I seem very vulnerable and come across as someone who needs to be protected. While I found it very funny to hear, it... |

I'm so sorry your parents don't understand, dragons. FWIW, I believe you. Please consider me a gladly receptive audience of your writings! (No pressure, though.) This made me thinking about the differences of me and you Kim. I wouldn't even care about if sombody shows any empathy regarding my feeli... |

I have very similar problems (also probably level 2, to the best of my knowledge I wasn’t given a number at diagnosis, though). There are two kinds of inability to speak that I experience. One is where I know exactly what I want to say but no matter how hard I try, my vocal cords will not respond. ... |

I'm a level two, and I have trouble talking sometimes. When I get stressed or angry or upset, I can literally feel my mouth becoming paralyzed and I become unable to produce words, despite having a clear idea of what I want to say in my head. I use a text to speech app on my iPad and phone, as well... |

I think on some level there might be a different type of communication but i think ultimately the problems caused by comorbids and varying levels of severity would cause problems. I also think its important to realize that theres a difference between irl and not. I dont think theres any sizable diff... |

Why do people assume there are hidden meanings in what I write and jump to the wrong conclusions? I have had two of the longest partial shutdowns I have ever had recently, so I was not able to work out what had happened and why. I am still a bit in a daze and fragile over it. If I have upset anyone... |

I haven't delved very deeply into autistic youtube but I recently started watching Aspergers From the Inside. He's relatable and I've learned a lot. League Girl, if you think JP Sears is hard to figure out you should try watching Jreg  I love dreg! and I dont really even care about politics. |

I doubt that it would work. People won't necessarily become friends just because they are all autistic. You could end up with loud sensory-seeking people living next door to sensory-sensitive people, which would cause friction. You'd have to vet people's symptoms and hope they are telling the truth... |
