The thing with not having emotions if you are autistic is not true in my opinion. What I believe to be the challenge is that many of us have challenges showing our emotions (even though we feel sorrow, happiness, etc. for others). |

The episode, "The House," from Night Gallery. It is one of my favorite Rod Serling pieces from both Night Gallery and The Twilight Zone. |

What I find odd is how members rarely talk about their underlying condition. An autism diagnosis is based on behavior. However, there's an underlying condition causing this behavior. For me, it's brain functioning problems (brain damage). I had come to realize early on in my life that something was... |

What do you mean by (near) anonymous posters? Is it that we communicate here through usernames? Anyway, about the advice. I think we offer advice because people here often ask for it. As most of us here are on the autism spectrum, we have lived our entire lives with autism and are relating things th... |

I had memorized the statistics (height, length, year of build, designer, builder, ride time) of every wooden roller coaster in North America without trying (just having seen those stats in roller coaster books). I have been able to play any musical instrument that I become fascinated with without ha... |

Although some sources say the Taos Hum wasn't first reported until 1991, there appears to be a legend of the hum dating back many decades before that. Here is an interesting article on that.

I can't hear any hum where I live, but that comes as no surprise considering a semi-busy two lane highway in addition to typical neighborhood sounds. Here's an interesting NBC news article from 2013 on the phenomena. https://www.nbcnews.com/sciencemain/mysterious-hum-driving-people-crazy-around-worl... |
