It was said the other day that I was "desperate for attention" because I asked someone for input on a short story I'd written.

I said, "You don't have to like it. I'd just like feedback."

Sigh.

I liked August Rush...though I thought the scenes with August/Evan feeling overwhelmed in New York were a total sensory overload. Which is kind of a good thing, because it showed how Evan felt about being alone in the city in a very accurate and personal manner. I watched "Pan's Labyrinth" the other...

I'd like to pose a question to those of you who think that destroying non-sentient machines is "genocide".

Are any of you vegetarians?

I used to be emo without realizing it. From the ages of 14 to 17, I had a serious problem with self-mutilation that eventually landed me in crisis rehabilitation. Thing is, I wasn't doing it for attention. I was doing it because I wanted to feel anything, even if it was physical pain. I still dress ...

Chocolate chip cookies...dipped in ketchup . [I confess, it is truly delicious. The acidity of the vinegar in the ketchup combines wonderfully with the richness of the chocolate. But I can only enjoy this delicacy in the comfort of my own dorm room, because if I eat it in the public dining commons p...

Miso-theist. [I didn't even know there was such a word, but I'm happy you brought it up.] I was raised Roman Catholic and sent to 10 years of religion classes. I am a Confirmed Catholic [entirely against my will]...and I think that being forced to believe in god is part of the reason I despise relig...

Physical awkwardness due to AS: "I have really bad balance, is all." Flapping my hands or making odd gestures when I talk: "I'm Sicilian--I'm supposed to talk with my hands." Talking to myself when I'm trying to figure something out: "My Interior Monologue is escaping!" Everything else: "Forgive me,...

I've found that I'm physically unable to blush [either that, or it doesn't show up; I have an olive Mediterranean complexion]...but I still get embarrassed. Quite often, at that.

It happens in college, too. I have a friend who's the exact same way. She meets every one of the criteria for Narcissistic Personality Disorder, though...so I've learned to ignore her whenever she tells me how hard it is to be pretty, talented, and a complete flirt. Ugh. Poeticromance...I so totally...

Um. Sorry to say this, Harvester, but I think you're being a bit extreme. People can assign inanimate objects names and personalities, but that doesn't mean those objects actually possess those names and values. I mean, I named my guitar, but only because I wanted to have something to call it by. I ...

The scariest experience for me was stopping in Grand Central Terminal in New York City when I was traveling to visit my ex-boyfriend in Upstate NY. So crowded--I got major sensory overload and ended up having a panic attack.

Not fun.

Yes...I mean, even as an Aspie female, I like to flirt with men and tease them. It's a new skill for me, so I'm really enjoying learning how it works. I have a strict policy, though: I'll never lead a guy on out of boredom or desperation. If I'm flirting with him, it means I genuinely have feelings ...

I can totally relate...I'm 5'5, 125 pounds, and I have a distinctly curvy and very female body--little waist, big hips, big bust. I'm hourglass, which was considered to be the ideal shape many years ago But I have yet to find a guy who finds my shape attractive. Every guy I've liked has encouraged m...
