I am looking for a new internet browser. I own a Macintosh, and am currently using Safari. I have tried Google Chrome and Firefox, but neither of them have satisfied my tastes. I understand that there are many browsers in existence, but I am not sure which ones are good, and I would rather not download all of them and try them one at a time.

Well you have not got many options really. Have you tried Opera? That is a pretty good browser and its a lot better than Safari. In my opinion nothing beats Firefox.

i am currently using firefox 4.0 beta 7, it's a bit glitchy (what else to you expect from a beta) but i like it. It has some differences from the older versions of firefox (it is faster and has a better UI).

i have tried opera, and to be honest i was not impressed. I mainly did not like the UI, and it seamed a bit sluggish.

Opera is pretty decent. I've found it's the best browser for graphics and multimedia among the ones I use. It's also fast and has very few security holes in comparison to the other four major browsers.

There are many, many web browsers out there that most people haven't even heard of. Dillo, OmniWeb, Shiira, Epiphany, Galeon, Konqueror, and Sea Monkey to name a few.

I know about some of those browsers. But they aren't really main stream. Epiphany is a load of crap. Konqueror is fast and cool but not that good at rendering pages, Sea Monkey is alright and the others are probably full of crap.

Epiphany is fine. It's a decent lightweight Webkit browser.

To the OP: What about Safari, Chrome, and Firefox is causing you problems? Those are the big three browsers, but if you don't like any of them your main alternative is Opera. If you dislike Firefox for purely aesthetic reasons (it doesn't fit in to the Mac desktop very well) then you can try either Camino (which is basically Firefox re-styled for the Mac) or any of the various Firefox themes to make it look more like Safari.

the beta would fit, tweak a few setting and it look very similar to safari.

Konqueror crashes too much for me. It's a good file manager, but a crappy web browser. Epiphany is not the most stable browser I've used, but it works pretty well. I use it as my main browser in Linux, even though I have Firefox installed.

Which version do you have? The old Gecko-based Epiphany was a bit flaky, but the newer versions are much better. I'm using Epiphany 2.30 right now, in fact.

I used the navigator.appName property in Javascript to test my Linux browsers, and Epiphany showed up as Netscape. I think it's the Gecko-based browser, though I don't know what to make of it as Safari shows up as Netscape as well.
