Now I can buy books again because they will be stored in one place, my ebook and it won't take up room except memory space. :(

I decided on one because it would save me room in the apartment. I think they are great but what I hate about it is having to use my fingers to touch the screen and sometimes it's hard to click on a certain button.

I picked up a Kobo on sale from Border's. They are going for $99.00. When Kindle gets down there I will pick up a Kindle too.

Wishing to buy a Kindle in the near future.

I have a virtual electronic mountain of books on my computer to read but reading from a computer screen just causes me to go brain dead quickly. Long live alternative reading platforms.

Oo. I also recently purchased an ebook reader.

I went with the PRS-950SC Sony Daily Reader.

http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/sto ... 1666258035

It's a beauty and unlike the Kindle and Nook I can upload books of my own without buying them from Amazon or Barns and Noble.

Proprietary items = :(

As long as they are in pdf format you can do that with the Kindle as well.

Hm.

Amazon must have updated their firmware because I know for a fact that it wasn't always this way.

It is, though, encoded to not allow other libraries to be used. http://calibre-ebook.com

Yes, it was an upgrade about 8 months ago. Now supports native PDF. I have uploaded a lot of work related documents and no longer have to carry around a heavy binder :)

When you shop for a stylus, be sure to get one designed for your type of E-Book. Most
E-Books these days use a technology called capacitive screens. The older type ("resistive") would work with anything (usually plastic) that didn't scratch the screen.

@ League_Girl: Which E-Book reader did you buy?

I have a Kindle & I love it! It's great to have all my PDFs from school in one easily accessible place.

Can you get the Kindle to align your PDF's correctly when you increase the size of the font?

I have not had good luck with PDF's on my Kobo. I have to convert them first to epub and that does not always work out too well.
