My Amazon account been locked

Account locked temporarily
We have detected unusual activity on your account and have locked it temporarily. Please contact customer service for further assistance.

I hate this.

If that came in by e-mail or text message, that sounds like a scam. Be very, very cautious. If they provided any telephone numbers, do not contact them.

If it's on Amazon's web page, then it might be legitimate.

It's easily resolved - ignoring any links in the email/text message, try to access your Amazon account like you normally would.

If it is in fact locked then the notification was valid and you should contact customer services via the Amazon website you have open in your browser.

It your account isn't locked then you can simply delete the mail/message telling you it is.
