The peanut gallery?

And I suppose you would imagine that you might sit in a roof covered balcony seat, or the executive box, perhaps?

No, I believe in this case I was in a minor, on-stage role. :nerdy:

That's why I've tried saying how it looks from the inside, rather than from the outside.

You know, the peanut gallery

Oh, I see what you mean now.

I had forgotten about babybird's mention of peanut gallery. I thought that you were mentioning the term for the first time.

Origin:
The term "peanut gallery" emerged from vaudeville theaters where the uppermost or rearmost seats (the cheapest) were often occupied by a rowdy audience who would throw peanuts at performers.
Figurative Meaning:
Over time, the term evolved to describe anyone whose opinions are considered inconsequential or unwarranted.

I imagined that FXE was implying my opinion was inconsequential, when he quoted you responding to my previous post, hence my questioning of his peanut gallery comment.

Yeah, I don't think I'm self-aggrandizing enough to use it in the manner you presumed, the emoticon was supposed to be more self-deprecating than serious.

To make matters more confusing, I couldn't see whatever image you posted.

Here is what your post looked like from my end:

Oh, that makes me a sad panda. The aristocratic emoticon is my favourite. *sad noble noises*

It's weird - that image doesn't render for me either, from that source. I have a similar issue with Twitter images when posted inside the [img] tags.

But it's not like there's an issue with the image/source itself - clicking on it "naked" and untagged works fine:

Enclose it in [img] tags, and (here, anyway) you get the "broken image" graphic instead -

A screencap of how it looks:
