Lab Pet wasn't sure where to post this - but check out this video of Sketch-up (no, not ketchup)!

Quite similar to RasMol, even HyperChem, which uses modeling for chemistry/crystallography. Designed for Autistics.

Sadly the U tube video did not work for me, but it appears it was a problem at my end.

What I will always say is that in general any package which draws or models things needs to be able to give an output file such as an xyz file so that the results can be transfered to some other package. A great need exists to avoid islanding the results.

I looked at the film today, it finally worked for me. The package looks good and I am tempted to down load a copy. I just hope that it can write a POVray file, if I draw anythng I like to render using POVray to get the final product.

And they'd have an incredible urge to twitch their way from folder to folder.

I used to be obsessed with cad, but more the what was behind it

I tried sketch up it is good (it is not specifically designed for autistics mind) . I have also tried sophisticated mesh modelling and solid modelling like catia. Although solid modelling is not a like CGI it is the closest thing to mathematically defining a solid object. That is why they use it in manufacturing.

I would probably write things down if they asked me to talk about it.

I have downloaded a copy and I have started, I am still getting to grips with the man machine interface, so far I have drawn some odd shaped houses and given myself a headache.
