My humble opinion is that the mac is way overpriced.

That depends what the needs are. Sometimes, you need a computer that will do what you need to do, do it right, do it fast, and be easy to use all at the same time.

Pc, the obvious choice

By the way, does the Mac users here use Safari or prefer Mozilla Firefox?

Firefox is more popular and probably better, but it's worth giving Safari a chance as well.

You could also try out Camino, which is basically Firefox customized for the Mac. The main difference is that it integrates much better into the system- Firefox looks a bit funny in OS X.

Another question comes to mind which I probably should of asked a while ago. I don't know if anyone here can help but I'll try anyway. As many of you know already I had my Dell Computer for 8 years now. During these 8 years the computer has been located in my basement since there's no room upstairs. The basement has a swing in temperatures and etc. The Winters tend to be pretty cold and the Summers (on a real hot day) will get warm. Will the Mac be able to operate well in a basement? I know this might be a stupid question but it's something I've been thinking about. My Dell (not counting other issues) has worked pretty well in the Basement during the 8 years. The cold and even the occasional heat has not affected it.

I like building my own computers and desktops assembled by a local computer store because all the parts are standard and I don't think they don't install any or as muck junk on the computer as a name brand computer.
