I'll have to try this "Lynx", long have I wanted access to Usenet, just to see what happens in that place.

Mozilla Seamonkey! I love the HTML editor (made a site using it). And it takes up less RAM then Firefox, but not that many add-ons for it :(

Firefox.

I work as a quality assurance analyst in the software industry and I must use all browsers at different points for testing. I only care for Firefox, have great disdain for Safari (Apple in general), and despise IE.

Try out SRWare Iron- it's essentially Chrome infused with tinfoil. I'm a big fan, even though it's not very mature on *nix yet.

Is this why it slows down and eventually crashes/freezes after 1-2 hours of use?

Firefox, because its cross-platform, well documented, secure and rather customisable. Safari and IE are the worst browsers ever, Google Chrome is s**t and also tracks everything you do on it.

Firefox for Ad-Block and many other add-ons. Opera for when I need speed or have 30 tabs open without using up so much RAM.

Firefox - it's intuitive, it works, and I don't have to think about it. Frankly, if I have software I have to think about, then that software has problems. It's a useful tool, that's about it.

I haven't seen any nasty stuff on Usenet, probably because I mostly go on the educational, university newsgroups. There are a lot of Usenet servers that are just empty, though, and on some of them all you can find is spam links to pr0n sites.

But not too lazy to waste time removing all the malware that IE lets in :?

FF for me, although I have been using Opera recently, for some reason FF is having trouble with embedded video, so I have to cut and paste into Opera to play it. Opera is good but lacks the addons that make FF so good
