For hardcore gaming, none of the above. CRTs remain among the best. Higher refresh rate, better colors, dirt cheap if you know where to find them. The downsides are obvious though (bulky, magnetic interference, not widescreen)
Of course I'm saying that now. I'm sure in the future display technologies will vastly improve and LCD/LED TVs will vastly outperform CRTs.
By the way I own a Vizio 24" LCD TV/Monitor and have no complaints.
