Yeah, Android is fantastic...

A 2011 BBC article wrote:
Android hit by rogue app malware

Android is becoming a popular target for writers of mobile malware

More than 50 applications available via the official Android Marketplace have been found to contain malware.

Analysis suggests that the booby-trapped apps may have been downloaded up to 200,000 times.

The malicious apps were copies of existing software, such as games, that had been repackaged to include hidden code.

...The best thing about it is how damn secure it is!

Good platforms make things open which leads to pricks targeting them but if you know what you're doing they can easily be avoided.

There's other security issues too. For example, there's a lack of encryption across the whole system. So all your passwords, sessions, contacts, and so on, are stored in plaintext on a filesystem anyone who has your phone for five minutes (along with anyone who writes a dodgy app) can access. And it's not like you can do a remote wipe.

That depends on the device.

Oh right, HTCs do remote wipe through HTCSense.com. You know, that site which never works...

I wasn't aware of the current issues but they'll be fixed.

It never has worked. It didn't work when it was launched and it still doesn't work now.

Besides, even if it did work, all you have to do is pull the MicroSD card out and you've got a whole bunch of data anyway.

I did research it and even used one prior to purchasing it thank you.

It does do handwriting recognition however you need to write rather slowly... to take notes during a class is where it fails. If I were writing a letter or something on my own time/pace it works.. on the-go (which Palms do nicely) it doesn't. Their touchscreen tech apparently does not have the ability to keep up with fast input.

Just use the keyboard or buy a Bluetooth one. Or get a keyboard dock.

It's just a tablet. Get over it.

I looove the Android OS! I am super exited for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 to come out! It will be out on Friday! I have been saving up, and I have just enough money for it! I can't wait! I would love to be able to use it in school, but I'm not sure that ill be able to put it on my 504.
Anyway, I know that tablets are the future of technology and I am beyond exited to have one of my own, especially the best one yet!
