Yeah - but I wonder how this (Tom's post - not your noble efforts!) will actually pan out?
I mean it's nice to sort out stupid laws (illegal to change the format of purchased music, even when still for personal use etc) that no-one cared about an' all, but I really doubt it will amount to very much in the long run - too many large companies are involved.
On the news this evening "a spokesman" was already saying that these <cough> greater freedoms will come at a price - so we'll pay more up-front, just in case we might want to listen to a CD on an MP3 player too. It's still a license to print money, and it will be a long time before that aspect gets addressed - if ever.
And sorry guys - wheeling out Sharkey to parrot the usual guff really, really doesn't help.

Try clearing your browsers cache and cookies. If its still not working, unplug your router overnight to renew your ip.

Yup its probably just round one. What they probably want to do is create an alternative internet portal where they know exactly who and where everyone is...

Facebook anyone?

Someone needs to tell this spokesman for an industry which simply has not been able or willing to adapt to changing technologies, yet still expects special, highly favourable, treatment, to shut the hell up.

Tried that, including.....ipconfig /release...ipconfig /flushdns....ipconfig /renew in Windows. No joy in Linux either - which usually saves the day for me. Wondering if files from uploadstation are blocked by the network baddie, BT. Surely not? Ah well, maybe that earnest documentary about the Bayeux Tapestry can wait.... :help:

That will only renew your ip internally. Most isps use a floating ip system which means basically that your external ip can change. To allow the network to give you a new ip you need to disconnect from your isps server. It can take anything from 10 minutes to a few hours.

Well OT lol.

 Hah - you didn't see my post before I edited it. I had quite an anti-Sharkey rant, so I did...
