Let's Build a Tesla Museum
It would make a great (non documentary) movie to weave the story around Tesla. So many cool inventions and gadgets Tesla made. A Sherlock Holmes era with even cooler gadgets. You see Tesla in 1890 cooking his breakfast in a microwave oven saying I don't think people are ready for this with all the fear Edison generating about me. You have industrial titans like Edison, Westinghouse and JP Morgan. You can get lots of big grand stuff. The Story would be made to entertain but could also shine a positive light on a real life an Aspie who is unknown to most.
Edison was a businessman and a genius. He patented his ideas.
Who's the better person? Neither -- they're both dead.
Who was the better scientist? Debatable.
Who was the better inventor? Edison, by far. His inventions were both practical and popular. Tesla's inventions -- while magnificent -- are now mostly laboratory curiosities. No death rays, no earthquake devices, no global broadcast power transmitters.
Yes, I built my own Tesla coil. I also have a van de Graf generator. But the clincher is that my home receives its electricity over power lines, powering incandescent filament lamps, both of which were Edison developments.
Why is it that a man who becomes wealthy through his own labors (and the labors of his employees) while providing practical solutions is vilified, yet the person who can't exploit his own discoveries enough to feed himself is somehow an 'unsung hero'?
Well, let's see... Tesla discovered how to transmit electricity from one place to another with zero wires. The trouble is, the guy who funded tesla was also big into making copper wire, so he cut tesla's funding. Why? Because the man would have had a lot of money to lose if he'd allow tesla to complete his work. He wouldn't be able to convince people to spend money on all that goddamn copper wire that runs across the globe.
Also, I'm pretty sure tesla invented the fluorescent bulb back before edison came up with his incandescent bulb. One got used, and one didn't. That doesn't mean that the one that got used was superior. What it means is that the guy who made it didn't step on any toes in the process, and/or that he had more/better funding, or better advertising. That, and shooting lightning bolts thru the air probably scared people at the time.

Gas ionization bulbs were developed as early as 1885 by Hertz in Germany.
Transmission of electrical power through the air and through the earth turns to be much too lossy to be practical. Also Tesla coils zapping bolts through the air make too much O3 (Ozone) to be safe for humans
Tesla's main contribution to applied science was AC power transmission and usage by AC motors and radio. The courts decided in 1942 that it was Tesla who invented practical radio first, not Marconi. This was too late to do Tesla any financial good. He died alone and in rather straightened financial circumstances.
one of Tesla's problems is that he preferred being wizard than to be a millionare.

Wait... They MAKE ozone? Well isn't that what we need right now, with the ozone layer eroding away due to pollution?
probably not. Sadly, everyone's just gonna want all the power for themselves, those selfish brat national leaders them, and we'll never get anywhere. Or someone will accuse someone else of using the power grid to test nukes and/or hack into government databases (which may or may not have actually happened in the first place).

The GLobal Wireless Grid is not feasible.
Tesla conceived of transmitting the energy through the earth. Unfortunately he had no knowledge of what was Down There. electric fields will be absorbed by the iron core.
Now we can -beam- electricity using tight beam microwave transmitters. That will work in principle. How efficient it is, I do not know.

While Tesla did see the Earth transmitting electric power, his main idea that Westinghouse refused was underground in supercooled pipes, for near zero loss. Westinghouse saw it was cheap, so loss was not a problem, and the customers would pay for it, so he went with overhead lines.
Transmission loss is near 25%, which is no longer cheap when the coal has to be burned to produce it. The secondary problems, Heat, CO2, add up over a hundred years.
About the only use for microwave electric is down from a space solar grid, where the sun is much brighter, and weight is not a problem. It has been waiting on cheap solar cells, which is happening, and a cheap means of getting it to space. It does offer unlimited electric power, which would put a lot of people out of business, and fed into an underground supercooled transmission grid, it could also transport Hydrogen.
Edison, Westinghouse, wanted to fill their bank accounts, Tesla was trying to understand the electric pattern. He mentions it in his work, and also that he was an organic farmer. The whole The Sun produces life and what we can do to help. His goal was to aid existing systems because they work, and he compared it to eating well, which gives health and energy. Feed your Planet!
He would make a good movie from an aspie point of view. I studied Tesla first, then discovered Asperger, and it spread light on Tesla, and why I disagree with those who have written about him. Also, I am from their future.
