I know. All computers are different.

Whatever suits us suits us. We're all very different people.

Hi calibaby, I was thinking of stealing your desktop (mine's only 1.7G), but then I realised I wouldn't like the rest of the spec. You need more RAM, probably.

Just to compare with your laptop...

I just brought my (ancient) laptop out of standby - first time since Jan 19th 00:12:51. Straight up and running fine within a second or so (a couple more seconds as it established the ethernet link to this machine).

It's a Compaq Armada 4220T - 266MHz, 96Mb RAM, 4Gig HDD, running Linux/Debian/KDE with OpenOffice, Mozilla, KDevelop, PostGRES, Apache to name a few.

I think it's coming up to its tenth birthday. I looked on the Compaq site for it, and they still maintain info on it, which is nice of them. At that point, they also offered ...

... which made me laugh!

My old one was a Dell Inspiron 1100.
My new one is a Dell Inspiron E1505.
Vista -
I think I need to start a thread to see how others are liking Vista.
