Why can't I reinstall game on Windows 7?

I think I've figured it out now, but thanks anyway.

I did download it off of Gog.com, through Steam, but Gog.com also got downloaded on to my system and it kept pestering me to play with friends and all that, so I uninstalled Gog.com and now it just lets me run the game. So hopefully I have solved it.

I am not very computer savvy. :oops:
