Have you made sure the spacers match the holes on the motherboard? I f you have one underneath the motherboard but away from its hole then it could cause bending

Okay, I am back from my short trip.

I have had to take the mobo out of the case because I forgot to put on the color coded ports cover (whatchyamacallit) on the back of the PC. But while I have it out, why don't I go ahead and install the processor and memory as sparkman suggested a while ago.

Okay, first things first. . .?

The processor and memory is installed, but I can't figure out how to set up the power supply to feed power to my computer! I clicked the switch on the power supply to the On position and pushed the power button, but I get nothing. Help! 8O

dont worry

you need to connect the case power button to the panel connector on the motherboard if you have not already done so.

this picture shows where the pannel connecter is. You have to connect up the right pins. (two of them) to do this check the book that came with out motherboard.

the blue light also comes on if i connect the green and white (+ and -) cables to the power connectors on the mobo. ok, there are positive and negative charges on both sides of each connector, but i can't tell which side is which. which two connectors do i connect? help!

the book your motherboard came with will say. usually gigabyte motherboards also have small instructions directly below the connector.

the gigabyte motherboards i have + is always on the left and the + and - is always on the same row

Is it a short circuit due to the fact that I did not use any spacers? Cuz I have tried everything, but nothing seems to work.

The motherboared should be suspended above the the motherboard tray (the back of the case) this is done by spacers. If the back of the motherboard is touching the case it will short circut.

are you sure that the power button connecter is connected to the right pins?

is there any chance that you could post a close up picture of the power button wire and where you have connected it?

Positive. And there may be a safety in the Power Supply that will not allow the puter to boot if there is a short circuit? is that even possible?

I do have these little goldplated spacers if you'd like me to use them; at least that's what I think they are.

yes m8 you should be using spacers you cant not do with out them i have already said this. no spacer = shortcircut.

You said that you got the power led lit up. that means that the motherboard is getting power and the psu has not selfprotected

if there is no shortcircut and both atx power cabels are plugged in then the only thing wrong could be the power button connectivity.
