I Always practice or roleplay in my head possible outcomes of situations to prepare myself for what is going to be said and how I would have to respond. I can't sleep at night sometimes if its a meeting that is worrying me, as I clam up if I'm not prepared.

When I was getting dxd, they thought I was more autie because I hadn't prepared properly what they were going to to say , and couldn't talk properly. Every question put to me I answered in monosyllables, when I'm more than capable of answering all their questions now I have had time to think about them, even a few minutes after the dx. I always regret not saying things when I don't roleplay.

Lab Pet is the calculating type. But I don't verbally rehearse since I don't think in words. I do WRITE just prior to a planned encounter with another so I know what to do. Not always does this go as planned....

I've written my response/question to another while walking down the stairwell (at University, lab upstairs), then nearly FELL down the stairs because one should not write and walk at the same time. And especially NOT when I'm thinking of Prime Directive: What I'm doing in the lab. And that I don't need to plan because I just know.

About solving problems: Yes! I do this in my head - as in math, etc.

I do that a lot; plan out conversations, devise what jokes I'm going to tell, and though the conversation will never go according to the script, it is still much better than being completely unprepared.

Also, I often find that I end up solving problems by imagining discussing the puzzle with another person; for some reason things I might have been stuck with for a long time will often reveal their solution this way, even though this rarely ever happens in a real conversation.

Yes, I can totally relate to that about solving puzzles. I have a more spatial or almost kinesthetic part of my brain that is like the "simulation engine" that actually solves problems, at least scientific/artistic/navigational ones, and the "self-conversing" part that kind of reminds itself what all the known facts and "big picture" are and puts the answer in a form that can be communicated in words.
