Well widescreens are definitely good for portables, would you like to see 1280x1024 in a laptop or 1440x900? It'd look way too tall in my opinion..

Regardless I don't see the issue with widescreens, I use one with a native resolution of 2560x1600, more than big and nice enough for me. :)

I'd rather see 1280x1024 to be honest... although my laptop gets 1400x1050 so it's still better than 1440x900...

That resolution I would gladly take... if I could afford a monitor that displayed that...
