One thing I have noticed about SQL is far too many people don't have a clue what it is. I agree with some of the other posters in that it is a great skill to have. Just be sure to remember that most DB's have their own extensions to it. For instance Microsoft has Transact SQL and there is also I believe Progress Sql and several others. Regardless of all that it is great to know.
