Yes i agree

linux is great and has the potential to become a mainstream OS but Windows is easy to use and vendors support it

Difference is Linux is free and open source

yeah windows has the claim to fame right now, but i think it might be better for the other two mac and linux shouldn't get to popular, one look at all the viruses and hackings in windows tells you that. and fame has it's drawbacks.

still i will admit apple seems to make the best media players, everyone has one seems like. my current one isn't doing so good. never used an ipod but always thought of it.

i never used linux didn't even know where it was, never saw a computer with it in the stores, so you have to get it online. might take a crack at it if it's free. don't know how to run it on a computer that already has an os.

but sometimes not being holy hell popular makes you more humble, because it's clear microsoft is getting greedy. i'm not happy with that, the main thing i hate is windows used to come with microsoft office by default. i use open office it's free. alot more programs are getting stripped now it sucks.

Whist I whole heartedly agree with you, Theres several issues I have with Linux and Mac

1) I can not play Train Simulator on Either (M$ Product...)
2) There are a lot of issues with Linux, For Example, I use Mobile Wi-Fi to access WP, and Linux WILL NOT connect to it.
3) Macs can not run on an ordinary PC without hackintoshing. I do not have $2500 to spare

as i said not supported, 2k O_O you could probably build one from scratch cheaper. i don't know but heck i could get a workstation for around that price.

so i guess you like trains.

microsoft is definitely the bigger company almost a monopoly, i hope there is at least enough competition to keep computer prices reasonable.

Since when did Macs cost $2500? I know some do, but you get one faaaar cheaper than that.

Well I installed Linux Mint 12 and I am quite impressed with it, it installed everything to get me going. I updated my nvdia drivers and codecs etc. So I have installed it alongside windows.

I'm curious, how have you found the GNOME interface? I HATE the one on Mint 12. But that's because I'm used to the old version of GNOME and it's features. For someone totally new to it, the differences probably wouldn't be such a big deal.

I have had no issues with it what so ever, I am testing it out and will let you people know what I think.

I really didn't like how you can't edit the panels like you could in GNOME 2. And some of the features seem a little strange to me.

There's always the LXDE Metapackage to look into if you hate GNOME 3. --Run it along side GNOME 3.

I priced them, And the one that I want, And the one that I would utilise is around the $2500 mark.

Yes I like Trains.

That is very true, And that is a very big problem. People have crappy hardware (like I do in my desktop for example) Runs Ubuntu absolutely fine, But XP has problems

I don't think it's making fun, I think it's more of a homage. I think it's good general Aspie song too.

Suit yourself.

Sounds like a crappy forum then if I'm honest with you. Or badly run, at least.

That was uncalled for.
Maybe I should redact the video? It's totally off-topic.

If you like. In all honesty I thought bcousins would get a laugh out of it. And a train forum in which members are banned for posting a video about trains is a badly run forum IMHO.
