^ It would be even WORSE with Mario Kart Wii, when played online. I have a "VS Rating" that goes up when I win and down when I lose. Given that mine is usually higher than the others in the race, I generally only gain 30-50 points per win (max is 9999.) If forced against my will to turn that one off in the middle of a race, I will lose anything from 100 to 600 points because the game then treats me like I got last place. So now on top of my focus being interrupted and the difficulty switching from one activity to another, I just lost a truckload of long-term points in the game!! !

Shoe laces.

Either going back in time to buckles, or going forward in time to tongues with velcro, is better than using shoe laces. They dont stay tied, they take to long to tie, they trip you.

Video Games.

All of you folks who rattle on about video games: where do you find all of that time to play them? AND to waste time, like me, posting here on WP?

Video games must be more addicting than crack! Thats gotta be bad for society!

^ Video games are fun, in the same way that sports and board games are! They're just another form of entertainment.

@naturalplastic: Agreed on the shoelaces. It took me until I was 14 to tie mine!

Shopping malls.

What twisted, perverted mind came up with the idea to crowd dozens of clothing, jewelry, and shoe stores into a maze of twisty passages (all alike); pipe in elevator music; fill the food court with sugar, starch, salt and grease; set up parking so that every excursion becomes a battlefield encounter with other drivers; and expect people to enjoy the experience?

I don't really like going to shopping malls either.

Power windows are pretty pointless as well for me add wieght to my car more stuff to break and yet I can't open the window when the key is off when I want to.

The tap-to-click function on laptops. Unless my finger is on the motherf*cking touchpad button, I do not want to click or drag anything.

I find that very annoying. The first thing I did when I bought this laptop was permanently disable the touchpad and buy a USB mouse.

I use both -- the pad for document and webpage navigation, and the mouse for gaming on MMORPGs.

I consider our modern pants/shirt setup a very bad innovation.

It was the consequence of the Reign of Terror, when people went around and would catch anyone not wearing trousers and other commoner clothes, and they would then decapitate them, impale their heads on pikes, and proceed to parade around in joy. People not wearing trousers suddenly felt the urge to wear them, and in time it became normal.

Agreed!

Well, in an (perhaps fruitless) attempt to keep this on-topic with the "Computers, Math, Science, and Technology" forum, I vote for biological weapons.

They have little or no operational or tactical military use, so they just end up being a terrorist's wet dream.

(And yes, many biological weapons weren't invented by humans).
