As far as I can tell, there's nothing wrong with Win8 from a technical perspective. It appears to be a world class OS until you realize that your 30" display just got filled from edge to edge with a PDF reader you can't seem to be able to possibly shrink the window of.
win 8 has multiplesidebyside multitasking for "metro" apps. And thats before going into how most of those programs run just the same as always in the desktop. That is unless you run windows RT, which is completely different from win8 but shares the styling

Good point, I didn't even get to the point of figuring out that they were tilable because I was so irritated that I only used the built in Metro apps for a grand total of about 30 seconds.

I don't want to tile my windows, I want to freely resize and move them. That's pretty much final, I don't see it changing with experience unless I get a tablet size display. If this wasn't an issue, why even include a Windows desktop?

Windows RT and Windows 8 share most of their codebase. I suspect they will eventually merge into one product.

I already prefer to run my programs full-screen no matter what I'm doing...

...and I STILL hated 8! I just can't FIND anything anymore!

It would have been no skin off Microsoft's back to offer the option.
