Your curent computer specs!
I guess you're using Xen. I keep meaning to play with it. Is it really going to make me get more RAM? If so, I'm not even sure what I can stuff in this machine. It might already be at its max.
PS. My Nvidia is AGP.
I know your card is AGP. I was more getting at you can't get a computer with a Processor like mine with AGP. Which means your computer must be alot older. Also maybe you have gotten confused and think just because your computer is 1.8 GHz that means it is as fast as mine. Which is not the case since a Intel Core 2 Duo at 1.86 GHz is faster than a Pentium 4 4.0 GHz Extreme Edition. It is also a Duel Core Processor.
I used VMware for the Virtual Machine. I have not used any of the othe virtual machine programs yet.

That entirely depends on what you are doing. I use my machine for solving computational intensive mathematical problems. I rarely have the time to modify the code to take advantage of dual processors.
My (main) machine is quite geriatric and only runs at 1.7GHz (sometimes, in my dreams, I think it's 1.8GHz, and type that, but that's just my fantasy channel cutting in).
However, when running some computational programs (that are either hard to convert to multiprocessor, or I can't be bothered to do that to them), my machine may even outperform yours - due to your machine's extra overhead of managing two cores, when one of them is actually being totally underused.
Another instance where I might outperform is when I am accessing a large (and I do mean large!) amount of (partially) randomly accessed data that is essentially all in swap space. The key here is that I have three HDDs with swap space split between them, where you have the single drive. When a task is totally limited by disc access time, having multiple drives can be quite an advantage.
Whatever... I'd still like to steal your machine... but you might notice.

Aha! Yes. I keep forgetting that there's a free VMware available now. In theory, it should be better than xen, as it's been around a long while.

What processor do you have? Your claim of out performing a Intel Core two Duos single core performance seems clueless unless you have some kind of experimental processor I have not heard of yet. I don't think you understand the concept that the GHz rating is not the direct comparasion for how fast a processor is. Or else every one would buy Celerons since they have clock speeds as high as Pentiums.
The single core performance of a Core 2 outperforms a 4GHz Pentium 4. Im just talking about single core performance here. Read some benchs and please tell me what kind of processor you claim can run faster than a Intel Core 2 Duo at a even slower clock speed.
Maybe you should do a google search. I think even the AMD FX-62 would need a higher clock speed to bet a C2D and thats the closest processor I can think of.
You have three harddrives setup in a RAID configuation so you are spliting data inbetween the harddrives to give you faster access speeds?

Poor guy. Running Windows. Linux!! !

Thats really unfortunate you are using a computer that is no where near being like what I pulled out of a bin last week (1GHz Celeron 640MB PC-133MHz). Gamefreak im sure you could upgrade to a much better computer for like $20 or $30. I like dealing with old hardware. Just not some thing that old. I would use your computer as a BSD Firewall if it could fit more ram in it... which you said it can't really.
Also interesting you say Win2k SP2. I thought Windows 2K was upto SP4 by now which would mean ,,,, lots of missing security patches.

I would ask you which real task is it that you set your machine that actually exploits the speed of the processors?
One task that I have spent quite some (brain and CPU) time on is in my avatar, at the moment. (There's a slightly clearer picture at the OEIS). I believe I have a proof that it is not possible to straighten out my eight wiggly lines. They each connect two diametrically opposite points on the outer circle. The various crossings must stay distinct, and in the exact same pattern. The attachments to the outer circle may be slid about.

It's sad that you did not pick those parts meticulously and individually and build the system yourself

Intel Celeron 1.3 Ghz Processor
256MB PCI133 Ram
40 GB Hard drive
Windows XP Pro SP2
Intel Video Chipset [32MB]
AC`97 Audio Chipset
Not perfect but beats that old 350Mhz Pentium ! !.
Thats great. I'm not to keen on the whole windows thing. But the rest of the computer is decent. Slightly lacking in ram but yea. Beats the pants off the other computer you had.
Don't you just love what educational institutions throw out.
So far from my Uni I have recovered:
16 optical Mice (given about 8 of them away and keeping the rest incase i need them)
1 1 Ghz Celeron with 512mb RAM and a 40 gb hd (I sold this for $120)
1 40gb Hd by its self
4 dvd combo drives.
1.2 GHz celeron with 640mb RAM
667 MHz Pentium III no ram or HD included. (sold for $40

One 450 MHz Pentium III processor and motherboard.
4 17inch CRT screens (given two of them away)
10 Microsoft Keyboard black. New.
Tonnes of network cables. Most of them 2 metres and below but some go all the way up to 7.5 metres.
Tonnes of spare powercables.
