So Halo is apparently lame? Is it lame in any way or for any reason? Some examples would be nice, in order to prove that you aren't just trolling and actually have one or more issues with the Halo game or community. Warning: this may lead to actual discussion of said issues.

Also: even though I don't like Microsoft's coporate tactics, "take-over-the-world" mentality, or their insecure badly-designed software that's impossible to modify, they
1) Make decent mice and keyboards that don't suck. I'm using one right now. I like it. One of the nicest budget mice I've seen.
2) Are a pretty good games publisher. See Gears of War and Age of empires for some non-Halo examples.
3) Have an OS that doesn't require much experience to use, even for complex tasks. As opposed to Linux, where the first thing I did when I installed it was make my sound card and NTFS drives work.

I would like to know if this makes me a "MS Fanboi". Do I get a membership card?

I like how cause i like halo as a game yres it does have it's flaws and far from prefect i am counted as a microsoft fan boy.

First of all i could call you a hypocrite as for example do you use windows. I would reckon a guess and say yes if so then your a microsoft fanboy if you were so determined that everyone that likes one microsoft product is a fanboy then so are you unless you wanting to make a statement and use a mac or use a version of linux.

Halo does have it's flaws and there are better FPS games out there epsecially for the pc but the game must be doing something right if there are millions of games played online on live.

i rest my case on those facts

I use Macs, before I used Macs I used Linux and had a small wIndows partition that I used for something I couldn't get to run in Crossover.

Halo is popular for two reasons, and two reasons only.
1. Marketing
2. First FPS on console that isn't horribly outdated

The BEST GAMES ever in my opinion is: Super Metroid (SNES) - Chrono Trigger (SNES) - Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PS 1)

My brother has Metroid Prime 3. The controls are WAAAAAAAAAAY better than the Xbox Halo's, approaching the sensitivity of PC FPS's. And it's FAAAAAAAAAAAR more interesting than Halo. I'm only on Norion at the moment but I'm getting ready for the second boss.

I agree. My PC can outperform most if not all consoles. Just look at my computer specs.

http://www.wrongplanet.net/postp1007929.html#1007929

The graphics card is newer than what any console has and most specs of it. I just wish I knew of a benchmark that would let me know if my computer outperforms all consoles.

What are your favorite FPS. I have quite a few. Here is a few of them.

Doom 3
Quake 4
Wolfenstein ET and Enemy Territory Quake Wars
Sauerbraten
World of Padman
Halo (Plays crappy in Wine, but oh well)
Urban Terror
Open Arena

I take it you use linux te big clue been the Wine comment but also the games as doom3 and quake 4 are games that can be readily ported to linux distos due to the opengl engine

You should really face Ridley in battle in MP3, it is a very good battle. Just make sure you get the missile expansion on Norion so you have ten missiles instead of five, although charge shots work just fine.

You are right about that. Do you use Linux and do you do any gaming in Linux? I realize gaming is the only thing keeping many people from getting rid of their dual boots, so they can have wintendo. I hope that Linux will soon have something to compete with the DX10. Just give it some time. Linux is under constant development and has come a long ways. I run several distros infact, but the one I use most is Ubuntu 7.10 Gusty Gibbon 64 bit with a custom compiled kernel. I have qemu, and VMware Server running nearly 10 different OSes, mostly *nix and Backtrack 2 installed to a usb disk.

This question is for everyone.

Does any of your favorite games work over a hamachi virtual private network using lan networking? Which ones do? Does anyone play Need For Speed over hamachi?

Grim Fandango is my number one favorite.
