Gamefreak, I never thought I would live to see the day when you bashed Microsoft.

I'd consider making Windows 7 my primary operating system only if I were able to test it out first to see if it was as good as people are saying it is.

Are any of you people currently using Windows 7 as your primary OS?

I am running the 32 bit release candidate as the primary OS in a dual boot configuration with XP Pro at work. The only reason I haven't gotten rid of XP is because of a very finicky application that I manage the PABX with that complains and squawks if it's not running on XP.

My laptop was dual-booting with Vista x64 and Win7 x64. I tried using Win7 as the primary OS and kept Vista there "just in case". That lasted about a month, then I got rid of the Vista install. Yes, it's *THAT* good an OS, even in beta and then as a release candidate.

You got to be kidding. Use a beta operating system as a primary operating system? Not a chance.

I normally agree with khelben1979's comment that using a beta OS in a production system is a bad idea. It goes against all sense of reason ;)

But I'm impressed with Win7's features and more importantly, it's stability. I'm happy to take a chance on using it as a primary OS on the laptop and on the PC here at work. If worst comes to worst, neither of them are a big drama if something goes horribly wrong.

Same here. I've heard Windows 7 is a little better than Vista, but not by much. I dual boot Ubuntu & XP for now - I just hope the security updates continue to roll out for XP.

Watch out for "I've heard" ... There's a lot of nonsense out there about what's good and what's hopeless when it comes to computers. I personally pay little attention to the the good and the bad reviews and prefer to evaulate things for myself. What one person thinks is tiresome and annoying, I may find good value - and vice verse.

Rather than go by "I've heard" - give it a go for yourself and turn it into "I've experienced" :)
