That's a crock of crap. You have a Mac and other luxury goods. If you really wanted Photoshop and there was no other way to obtain it, you would pay up.

I'm not supporting piracy, but to address the point regarding the purchase of expensive items, I've often saved up over the course of months to purchase items such as computers, model helicopters, electronics equipment, references, car maintenance, etc. Having things with a hefty price tag need not imply wealth but may imply patience.

Same method is valid for buying a piece of software.

True enough. I prefer GIMP for the simple level of graphic editing I care to do though. Photoshop would be a waste of my time, although it could certainly be saved up for just the same as anything else.

None. If I can't afford a song or movie, I don't need it. If I need a program for work, I'm either provided it by work (remote desktop is your friend) or I get a tax write-off for it. The old reason of "I want to check out an album before buying it" is now moot, given Youtube and the like.

No, if I really wanted Photoshop and wasn't a millionaire, and it was impossible to pirate, I'd do what I do now: use a cheaper alternative. I'd lose out if I needed more advanced features, but still, I don't see it as good value. I won't buy something if I think I'm being ripped off, and I don't think many people can justify spending £400 on a disc.

You never answered me before, how many people have been taken to court and lost a case over pirating Photoshop?

Would it make you feel better if I couched it in euphemism? "You are violating intellectual property." Better?

That's not euphemism, that's accuracy.

Nope, most of the stuff is on YouTube is taken down instantly unless its content owners have licensed it to be there.

So any old arrangement of random ones and zeros will do for you, or do you require some special configuration?

Obviously they need to be in a "special configuration" or they're useless.

Then why dont you cut the "ones and zeros" s**t? They are flips sides of a coin.

Why not be honest and just say "Though I value the PS media greatly I just have no respect for other peoples rights. But in order to become wealthy like I want, I will not permit people to treat me that way."

C'mon, just say it. Its easy to be honest. Just say it.

What are you on about? :?

I think we're all forgetting I never even pirated PS. In fact, I run no pirated software at all. So stop making it personal. This isn't about me.

Between The Pirate Bay and install0us...
$6000? If you count multiple versions pirated, then $10000.

:D, let's hide from the Feds!

$0.00 dollars saved.

Personally, I wish that the content owners hired hackers to screw with the downloads (you want The Pirates of the Carribean for free? Then you can have a backdoor installed on your computer too so we can have proof of illegal purchases)

People put time, effort, and money into making content like movies, televsion shows, and music. There is nothing wrong with wanting some income for that work. If you really like the content that much, then pay for it.
