All of them, because software only exists for some.

So which is "best" is irrelevant.

Yes, some are annoying.

Lets write good software for the non-annoying ones.

Actually, I wished I was very good with Linux but, since I'm not I do try to learn about the various OS's in the world as, there are many.
2nd, there will never be a perfect operating system, cause, as long as there is people whom earn megabucks looking for exploits as, I'm not just referring to Windows alone constant the effort will be to make an OS which is stable and secure..

I use OS-X (and iOS for the iPhone and iPad)

I strarted on DOS, worked with Windows 3.1 and NT 4. Played with OS/2 for a while. Preferred Linux, but didn't like having to completely upgrade the OS through a 14k telephone modem just to install some library so some new software would run. Finally switched to OS-X because it gave me an ease of use that let me do the work I needed to do, but also provided a robust UNIX command line. It ain't perfect, but OS-X provides the best tools for how I work.

My primary operating system is Mac OS X Snow Leopard. I also use Fedora Linux 14, Ubuntu 10.10, and Windows 7. The latter three operating systems I run through the Parallels Desktop virtualization software for Mac OS X. I have also tried the new Chrome OS, but I had some problems with it when I tried it so I don't use it anymore. I think if the bugs were fixed in Chrome OS, it could be a great operating system.

Windows Vista at home (sadly), Windows XP at work, though I have Cygwin installed on both machines.
