There are 'missile and bomber' competitions? Who are the competitors? What happens during the competition? I was unaware that such competitions existed.
He's "pulling your leg". There is no such "competition" with nuclear devices that allows civilian judging. Pay him no mind.

Strictly speaking, the rule is that you cannot accelerate an object to the speed of light by the application of force to the object.

As seen by an observer, an object could go faster than light if it was due to the expansion of space between the object and the observer.

We also see light -radiated- from objects. For example the sun or the other stars at night. Also our light bulbs.

Nothing to do with what Eric76 was saying. Nothing to do with the whole topic of the thread.

You can pm me if you want me explain to you what we all are talking about.

There are competitions. You have to with the right associations. I am a member of a Strategic Air Command veterans association in which I am a life time member. If you become a member I will be sure to shred your application.

There are 'missile and bomber' competitions?!?!
8O :nerdy: 8O :nerdy:

Who are the competitors?
What happens during the competition?

I was unaware that such competitions existed.

They take place at SAC bases. There is how fast you get into bombers and there are missile drills on how fast can you launch a simulated attack. The competitors come from different SAC bases from around the nation. There are also reunions and meetings of current and former SAC members at different SAC bases including tours. The last completion was held October at Barksdale AFB in Louisiana. I did not go because I had already made other vacation plans

There are no more SAC bases since the SAC was disestablished on May 31, 1992 and all of its assets were transferred to the Air Combat Command. In 2009, all nuclear-capable weapons and platforms were transferred to Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC).

I am a real military veteran, by the way.

It takes more than a few service patches on a surplus jacket to make a real veteran. You would have been only 17 when the SAC was disestablished - to young to have been part of the SAC.

You should get your stories straight before you start posting them.

I was in the Civil Air Patrol and I trained at Vandenberg AFB every summer starting at the age of fifteen. The organization I belong to is the Association of Air Force Missileers in which I am a life member and give around $300 a year to the organization for donations. I know the director of the group.I also many awards for my rockets at Moffett Field during my tenure in my CAP years

I still build rockets. l built a replica of the V-2 rocket. My uncle is the chief technician for Edwards AFB and they kindly let me use the very edge of the base as a proving ground. My last rank as a CAP member was a C/SSgt
/ Wright Brothers Award and I have two CAP Cadet Model Rocketry Badges and marksmanship badge

Your story keeps changing, FMF. This thread has gone way off-topic and degenerated into a one-man p*ss*ng contest and devolutions into false authority. Even if what you now say is true, flying planes and shooting off toy rockets does not confer any authority or expertise in the field of relativistic physics ... or military secrets.

Also, who is known is not as important as what is known. A person could have once shaken hands with C.R. Dawkins and still know nothing about science.

I think you should look up the meaning of the word "Gravitas".

Arguments from false authority can be ignored.

Unless it is cartoons, whatever they develop isn't going to involve faster than light speeds.

That was a poor choice of word and I thank you for pointing it out but you have been trying to bait me ever since I came here. It is not going to work
