If it's only for your browser, you don't even need to root your device. Just get a normal ad blocker.
I'd just like to add, that for Android, in many cases rooting your phone/pad can void the warranty. For anyone who understands computers and is comfortable troubleshooting them, this isn't that big of an issue at all. That being said, if you're not technically good with your device I would certainly recommend just using an app that doesn't require root privileges.
