My old laptop is dying and I've been thinking of getting a gaming laptop. Can anyone please reccommend one that isn't too expensive?

Inexpensive gaming laptop is largely an oxymoron.

Helps to know what kinds of games you want to be able to play on it. Then we'll know what hardware recommendations to try to search for.

Id go desktop man. Laptops are way to expensive and will never be up to par even with a midrange gaming desktop.

I din't mean inexpensive I just mean not necesrilly the most expensive on the market. I only play zoo tycoon 2 but with lots of downloaded content and my game always lags.

@bdubs, can you reccommend any desktops that would be good?

That's a pretty low-end game.

System Requirements

* Windows 98SE/2000/ME/XP
* Multimedia PC with a 733 MHz processor
* 256 MB RAM
* 900 MB of available hard disk space
* Quad-speed or higher CD-ROM drive
* 16 MB 3D DirectX9.0 or later
* Internet access required for optional downloadable content

Newegg laptops starting at $450 USD.

Dell Inspiron 15 laptop w/upgraded to Windows 7 ($30 more) starting at $429 USD.

That should be more power than you need if that game is the most demanding thing you run on it.

Exactly, if your not looking to run demanding games that should be fine. Newegg has a bunch of assembled desktops worth looking at. Or you could build a midrange gaming desktop for 400 with out monitor. I just prefer desktops, let me know if you need help building.

People seem to want "POWER" for the sake of it without understanding it fully. I like powerful systems as when I use a computer, it WILL slow down. So, the more power, the better (for me anyway)

If you want a gaming slash high performance laptop I would recommend Sager

17 inch
http://www.sagernotebook.com/product_cu ... pid=218647

or perhaps something a little smaller
http://www.sagernotebook.com/product_cu ... pid=216215

or the flat out ridiculous if you prefer
http://www.sagernotebook.com/product_cu ... pid=188463

gaming laptops are always expensive, but sager is probably one of the very best values for the money you spend if you are looking for something very high end.
