Here's some Christmas science I want to share with you fellow geeks.

A lecture video and an article about the star of Bethlehem:
scienceoxfordonline - Video Christmas lecture *The Star of Bethlehem* by Dr Griffin, Astronomer & CEO Science Oxford
msnbc - Wondering about the 'Star of Wonder'

They recently found the first Jesus-era house in Nazareth:
msnbc - First Jesus-era house found in Nazareth

And finally an article about Santa's sleigh:
sciencedaily - Santa's sleigh: researcher explains science of Christmas magic

Enjoy!

I love these types of articles. They are very interesting. The economic class that Jesus was in is a heavily debated topic right now. Overall logic would say he probably was of a lower class based on his experience with heavy labor and how Christain churches established were funded by other people. Interpretation of the words can go either way.

When I was little, I always wondered how Santa could eat all the cookies. I had a theory he had the metabolism of a shrew which meant he would have to eat seven hundred pounds of food every eight hours. And even more to be plump. Thanks for sharing these.

Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't, we really don't have decisive evidence on it. But we've chosen December 25th to celebrate it.

I didn't look at the videos but I think I know what you're talking about, I bought a copy of Australasian Science and it had an article about it. If I remember correctly it was mostly likely Venus and Jupiter not an actual star. I can't be bothered rereading the article though.

On the subject of magazines though, I think that it's ridiculous how there are over twenty different "celebrity gossip" magazines and about three different Science magazines.

EDIT: Thread killed.
